Let It Rain!

It has been steadily raining since yesterday evening. This is wonderful! People who live in warmer areas probably don't understand how giddy the first good deluge of spring makes me. It's not snow! My garden is getting a great start this year! Marie at Watch the Wind Blow By has astonished me by giving me the Arte y Pico award. I've only had this blog for two weeks, and I have an award? Wow! Thank you so much Marie! Marie's blog is so creative and peaceful. She's sweet (and has an amazingly talented hubby who builds things for her!). And if you haven't already, click over there and take a look at her blog header...It makes me want to go right out and buy a house on the beach. Here are the rules for the award: 1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language. 2. Each award has to have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone. 3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that presented her/him with the award. (I know it says this is a rule, but I know not everyone likes to do this, so I won't be upset if you don't.) 4. The award winner and one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte y Pico" blog so everyone will know the origin of this award. 5. To show these rules. I honestly don't know if I know 5 blogs who haven't received this award yet...but I guess the rules don't say that the award can only be won once. Ok, here is just a small sampling of the creative and artistic blogs I love: Angela at The Painted House is a REAL artist. You should go look at her paintings. Seriously. She has a friendly and witty and honest way of writing too. Dawn at The Feathered Nest loves vintage things, so just go look at all the eye candy that she creates. Wow. Mrs. Wilt at The Sparrow's Nest is creative in every aspect of her life. I am always inspired by her blog to try to be a gentle and kind wife, mother, and friend. Aimee at Confessions of a Happy Housefrau: She recently inspired several other very creative people to copy her gorgeous photo wall. And she recently posted some sweet luxurious handmade bird's nests. If I were a bird, that's totally where I would want to live. And wait, is it true that The Nester at The Nesting Place has not yet received this award? Ok then, I'm honoured to be able to give this award to her! If she's already received it, well she deserves it twice! From mistreating windows to rebelling against the "pristine wall" rules, she is an inspiration to non-professional (and probably some professional) decorators all over the internet. Ok, that's five! Whew, this post took me way too long to type! Now as I look outside, the glorious rain has turned to inglorious slush.
