Having a Blooming Good Time
I planted a lot of bulbs last October. I think I spent at least $45.00. In a week or two, I will have a riot of colour in my front garden. I hope. So far my crocuses (that I inherited from the previous owner) are done now, and I have two cheery daffodils, and one lovely red tulip. I love spring! One of the fun things about flowers is that I get to play with the macro setting on my camera. Yesterday was busy! I had a contact lens fitting appointment, at which I learned that my astigmatism is much improved compared to my old prescription. That's good, because I don't buy the special expensive astigmatism contact lenses. I've been wearing glasses for 14.5 years now. Ugh! Next I went to a specialty stationery store to find pink envelopes, because all Michael's had in the size I wanted was baby pink, and I needed raspberry pink (apparently I cannot spell that f-word that means pink...but that's the colour I mean). This store had the pink I wanted in the wrong size, but they also had the right size in a metallic-raspberry-pink, so that was close enough. I'd prefer just regular paper, but the metallic is ok. I can't be too picky when I don't want to use the cream-coloured envelopes that the cards came with. Speaking of picky, do you think it matters whether all the centerpieces are facing the same direction? I think it does, but the other ladies helping set up the bridal shower this morning just think I'm crazy. They humoured me though, and let me adjust the centrepieces. Anyway, after buying the envelopes, JK and I went to meet my mom for coffee. For the past few years I have just taken her out for coffee for mothers' day. My mom doesn't have a home right now, so she would have no place to put a gift, and she doesn't really use gift cards and things (she usually gives them to me!). So we had coffee. Here is my sweet mama with my sweet baby. You wouldn't believe how difficult it was to get both of them to look at the camera! I just gave up, but I think this picture is sweet.JK was mad that I wouldn't share my drink with her. I got a Mint Mocha Chip Frappucino (I think that's what it was called) and it has caffeine. Mom shared some of her strawberries'n'cream drink though This afternoon I have to cut up enough cantaloupe and grapes for 80 people. I have to make signs directing the guests to the third floor, and I had to wrap my shower gift. I love wrapping!
