Destination: Right here!

Wow! I have been given a most incredible honour! My little blog is today's field trip destination for readers of my internet friend Candid Carrie, and her new site just for field trips, Camp Candid Carrie! Welcome to all the field trippers! I'm thrilled to be your host today. Feel free to snoop around, ask any questions you like, and have fun! Oh, and be sure to come back in about 2 weeks, because I'm planning a giveaway for my 100th post.

So KD's step-mom lent me one of her digital cameras. She brought it over yesterday. It's a Canon PowerShot, and so far I really like it. The problem though, is that she doesn't have the disk to install the driver, so I can take great pictures, but they have to stay on the camera. Sigh. I was so looking forward to being able to take good pictures again. There is so much I want to show you: the jug I painted at the stagette, the jungle I'm growing on the front step, my rosebush, some new gifts I've wrapped for a wedding shower this weekend. Sigh. I got the film developed of JK's birthday, and most of the pictures were horrible. Luckily people emailed some of the pictures they took. Here are some of the better ones from our film camera. This is KD's brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law with JK. They gave her some pyjamas, which KD put on her right away, and a dress...which KD put on over her pyjamas. And the cutest eighties-style baby sunglasses. The guy in the background is KD's uncle. JK actually played more with her gifts than with the paper. I was surprised about that. And her hair stays in an elastic now!

Finally, here are some not-very-good shots of our living room after painting and everything. I love my living room. It turned out exactly like I wanted it to. And I discovered that putting the piano at a slight angle in the corner makes it seem friendlier and not so intrusive. My piano bench served its purpose of extra seating beautifully at JK's party. Keep in mind that the wall colour looks way better and warmer in person.

  1. Hello, here on a field trip with a suggestion for your Cannon Powershot. Look around on the internet to download the driver. I had a computer crash and had lost my driver disk so I couldn't put it on my new computer. I found the driver online, downloaded and it worked great.

  4. Stopping by on the field trip! Jen721 is right! I have a Canon Rebel and if the computer I'm at has ANY picture software on it (Windows has its own in Vista), it will upload the pictures. Good luck to you! Powershots are cool cameras!

  7. Thank you for having us. We had a very nice time. I hope we can visit again. My favorite part was the baby in the glasses.

    Thank you,
    Linda

(Carrie didn't make us write thank you notes, but my mommy taught me real good.)

  8. I love the artwork you have by the piano and over the fireplace.

Someone unrolled an entire roll of TP in the bathroom and I'm pretty sure it was those naughty monkeys jen721 brought with her. Not that I'm a tattle-tale or anything...

  9. Your living room looks beautiful. And a little hint for the digital camera - if you don't have the software, you can get a memory reader really cheap just about anywhere these days. Downloads the photos pronto. I LOVE digital!

  10. Hey Jo ... I forgot to mention that you might want to have your blogger's insurance updated and a can of air freshener. Jen721's Two Knit Monkeys have left stink bombs while visiting with other field trips.

And keep an eye on that bird statue of yours ... and don't look in my purse for it if it is missing.

  14. Yay, lots of comments! Y'all are so hilarious. I love it! It's like reading Candid Carrie, except that you're all talking to me!

jen721 - Thanks for the suggestion to look online for the camera driver! I didn't think of that. I will definitely go see what I can find!

apple joos - I've tried working with the picture software we have already, with no luck so far. Probably because I don't know what I'm doing ;-)

linney shvede - what a lovely thank you note! Carrie should give you bonus points for it.

judy haley - I love the artwork too! The two larger ones were the inspiration behind the whole gold-red-green-brown colour scheme in the room.

Carrie, you leave Jasper alone. He's already feeling nervous with all these strange people around. The poor bird will be uprooted soon enough when we move ;-)
