House Hunting Update #2

Our realtor didn't come today. He misunderstood me when I said I would be out all afternoon and leaving at 11:30, so he could come in the morning. He thought I said I'd be out all morning, and arriving home at 11:30. Oh well. He plans to come tomorrow at 11:30. We haven't looked at any new houses today. There are several new listings that we want to see. We just have to get appointments with them. KD and his brother are installing laminate right this very minute. It's taking a lot longer than I thought it would! They started at about 7pm, and now it's 9:30, and they only have the entry done. I just put JK to bed an hour late, and I think she's tired enough to not be disturbed by the noise. We'll see how it goes! I just hope the noise isn't going through to the neighbours very much. They have 3 small children. I can't wait until we no longer share any walls! The pictures are from our trip to Fairmont Hot Springs in BC this past March. KD and his youngest brothers were starting JK on the path to becoming a pool shark. She'll beat them all one day!

  1. Isn't it frustrating when home improvement projects take longer than you planned??? And they ALWAYS do!! That laminate is very time consuming! My husband has done it several times for us and for friends. It is so well worth the wait though! Hope JK sleeps well- and you too!! And that is a problem when you live so close to neighbors- we are always worried that we are being too noisey!
Can't wait to see the floor and hear what the realtor has to say!!

  4. It took my husband an entire weekend to put laminate down in the kitchen. It's time consuming to cut one piece at a time. But it looks great now and I know yours will too!

Good luck with the realtor today. :o)

  6. Hi, I'm a field trip with Candid Carrie today. Love your blog. I, too, am remodeling at this very moment - our master bathroom. It's a lot of work, for sure. Good luck with your realtor. Hope everything works out quickly for you.

  9. I came on the bus from Camp Candid Carrie. I like your blog, but if it's okay, I'm going to hang here at the table the rest of the trip and sink a few balls.

I wish you and your husband good fortune in your house hunting. If the market is as slow as it is here, you should find some really good deals.

My wife and I just bought a house, a little starter track house, but it won’t be finished until November. We, too, share walls with other people. CAN'T WAIT to be out.

  10. Your blog is so much fun. I may stay here with Shaneshock for a while and play some pool. I will use my monkeys as a diversionary tactic to win the game. I'll be back to poke around.
