Hair, and a Rocking Chair

Last night, I finally spent the money to get a decent hair cut. Every time I do so, I resolve that I will get a professional hair cut more often. But then it takes a year or two to get up the courage to spend $70 on my hair again. So here's what I look like now: This kind of looks like a candid picture, but it's not. I was looking at the display screen of the camera through the mirror. I am terrible at self-portraits. This one is better, though I do look a bit like a deer in the headlights:
When we were in Fairmont for the third part of our vacation, KD's mom and step-dad stayed at our house so that they could visit with Baby L and her parents for a few days without causing any extra work for them. When we got home, we found a rocking chair waiting in the living room! It was patterned after a chair that KD had when he was small. His was bright red. JK's new one perfectly matches the fireplace mantle in the living room! Of course I had to do some rearranging, and this is what I came up with: This wall needs something, but I'm not sure what. Any ideas? To see what this space looked like before, go to this post.

  1. That chair is soo cool! Did you know you were getting it?

  2. LOVE the new cut! It really looks great. I wish my bangs would do that, but they just frustrate me. And that looks like the perfect little reading spot!

  3. Hi! I'm Meme from Screaming Meme's...I'm an Interior Decrator/Model home Stager...I think you should lower the platter and get some more cream plates or something add to the platter...You could add an initial to platter for fun...A vinyl letter or hand painted...It doesn't have to be perfect....I want to personally invite you to Screaming Meme's Faux School...bring a paint Brush and a piece of furniture or decor and get to class! Your late! :)

  4. Hi Jo :)

    Your hair looks darling!!

Listen to Meme, she's right :)

  5. I love your new hair cut!! LOVE the bangs. I'm contemplating bangs again...but I'm afraid I'm too old for the COOL bangs. I don't want to look like an old lady trying to look younger. But aren't we ALL doing that? :o) Oh! And I laughed about what you said about getting up the courage to spend $70 on a good hair cut again for a few years. I do the same thing! Best hair cut I EVER got cost me $130 when I lived in Hawaii. It even grew out perfectly. I actually considered flying back to Hawaii to have this guy cut my hair! lmao

  6. Seriously COOL hair!!!! It's hard to take a self-portrait isn't it!
