Organised Spices

I finally got my spice cupboard looking pretty!  I still need to cut another 2x4 to raise the back row on the bottom, and I'd like to figure out some prettier lables than just permanent marker.  But so far, I love it!  I used seven sets of Ikea's little spice jars.  And that's after tossing a good portion of my unused spices.  Our grocery store has a really good bulk section, and what I can't find there, I'm sure I can get at the Bulk Barn.

Here's what it used to look like:

(and that was on a good day!)

  1. Hi Jo!

I collect salt & pepper shakers, my spices are 'under cover' and not as organized as yours!

    Good job!

  2. They look great! I really need to get mine under control....

  3. Looks great! I need to organize our spices like nobody's business.

  4. This is what I need to do!!!
    Looks GREAT!

  5. Your spice cabinet looks great. I like those jars!

  6. Thanks everyone! I'm quite pleased with how this little three-year-long project turned out. It's so much easier to find what I'm looking for now, even though there's no particular order to the spices at the moment.

  7. Hi Jo

Great job! You've inspired me to get going on my spice cupboard - I like the raised levels to organize things.

Have you checked out the new Martha Stewart organizing labels from Staples? They have a great collection of round lid labels for spices, etc. Not cheap, but cute - also I think they have them in "chalkboard" so that you can change them up as needed.

  8. LOVE the spices--that is a great idea. Might have to make a trip up to Minneapolis to the IKEA there for the bottles--good excuse to see my little grandson! Love it!

  9. Great organisation! I sorted my herbs and spices into jars last year and the difference it made was amazing! now I can find what I want - and so I use them all more!
Thanks for linking to a Round Tuit!
Hope you have a fabulous week!
