PEI Farmhouse Eye Candy

Kevin has an iPhone.  It came in handy on the drive home from Jasper last weekend.  There's an app for realtor.ca, so while Kevin took his turn driving, I browsed for farmhouses on his phone.  None are quite as perfect as this swoon-worthy one, but all have buckets of potential!  All photos are from www.realtor.ca.

"LOTS OF CHARACTER AND CHARM IN THIS VICTORIAN STYLE CENTURY HOME SITUATED ON 10.5 ACRES +/- JUST MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN CHARLOTTETOWN."

What I love about this one is the beautiful landscaping, the style of the house (just like Green Gables!), the stained glass front door, the gorgeous floors, and the huge red barn.  I could do without the wallpaper on nearly every wall.

*****

"Large character century home with 27 plus acres with waterfront and only 5 minutes to city of Charlottetown."

More gorgeous floors in this one, and beautiful original wood.  But I'm not 100% sure I could live with that much wood, but I wouldn't be able to bring myself to desecreate it with paint!  I'd rather have someone else do the desecrating, then I can just enjoy the fresh bright house!

"This beautiful country estate home is located on 2 mature acres in Harrington."

This house is really pretty on the outside, but it seems like it's full of tiny rooms and spaces...even the kitchen has a wall down the middle of it!  But it has potential!

"Century home minutes from the city. Great home for the growing family, or if you just want to live minutes outside the city with beautiful gardens and lots of character. "

This one is my favourite.  Kevin's too.  I love the little attic room with the tiny pointed window, and the chequered floor, and the little deck, It's just beautiful.  I would have to paint all that knotty pine though.

I hope you enjoyed a little farmhouse window shopping!

  1. OK, so this house is in Chicago, and it's new. But I still thought of it when I saw this post. Maybe a little large for what you have in mind, but beautiful anyway.

    1. Thanks Christan! That house is gorgeous too! I could handle a new house as long as it feels like an old house ;-) A new one would be Kevin's preference.

  3. I would love to go to PEI sometime. Nice to dream:) I used to sleep in an attic room when I was younger in allendale neighborhood. Closer than going to PEI:)

  4. Your pictures torment my dreamworld--I tried to get a promise out of my husband once that we would retire to a farm...couldn't extract one. The photos are amazing.

  5. I love that last house, it's so pretty. I love old houses, that's why we bought ours. It was built in 1927, old compared to anything we had ever lived in before.

    1. I know the feeling, even thought the east is not technically home to me. Every time we visit Kevin's parents, I want to move there. PEI is my preference (never been), but I'd be happy with an old house almost anywhere east of Manitoba!
