Spring Cleaning 2012: The Basement Family Room

I did it...sort of!  It has taken me forever to cross the basement off my spring cleaning list!  It is only a partially partially finished basement, so I couldn't do a real spring cleaning.  But what I did do kept getting postponed.

What I did:

  • swept the stairs
  • vacuumed the sofas
  • washed the bookshelf
  • organised and put away toys (so much easier since Kevin got rid of 2/3 of them)
  • vacuumed the rugs (actually, Kevin did that because he did some drywalling on Wednesday.)
  • cleaned out the deep freeze

Plans for this room:

  • Well, that's really Kevin's jurisdiction at this point.  Once we get to deciding on a paint colour and picking carpet I'll have a more active role.  Before then, it still needs plaster and taping, sanding, priming, dropped ceiling...in other words, all the non-fun stuff.

Oh well.  Such is life in a house with kids!  I was going to tidy up to take the after pictures...but it's 10:00 PM, and I still have editing work to do before I go to bed.  At least it's vacuumed.

11 more rooms to go!

  1. Good job! After all your hard work, you MUST show us what it looks like now though!

    1. Jenn, that is what it looks like now! ;-) Well, if you add in two little kids.

  2. I think we all have one room in the house that looks like this = kids will do that to a place. Can't wait to see what you do with this room - it's such a blank canvas, you could do anything!

    Have a great day.
