What I Wore Wednesday...and more Fashion Questions

I think I may have to put my participation in What I Wore Wednesday on hold until the summer when my wardrobe is more varied.  My closet is about 18-24 inches wide.  And I have six small drawers in a dresser.  I really don't have a lot of clothes!  This outfit is from last week, and I haven't taken any pictures since then because it's all basically the same.

Jeans and boots: same old, same old that I wear every day (H&M and Shoe Warehouse)
Tank top: Old navy, I think.
Shirt: Urban Connection?  It's Urban Something anyway.  I think I paid $14 for three or four shirts one day before Christmas because their store downtown was closing.
Scarf: Sport Chek
Sunglasses: Ardene's

So I have some fashion questions for y'all, since you did such a great job answering my last one.  How would you describe your style?  And what are your favourite stores to shop at?  (Sorry, that sentence would bother my Papa!  It should be: "What are your favourite stores at which to shop?")

I'm looking forward to your answers!  I'd call my style "Clueless Copycat", and I shop at H&M mostly.  When I shop at all.

  1. I think my style is because I have no choice....I have five boys....but it's going to change! After I lose some weight and all I want to stop shopping at Lane Bryant and start shopping...anywhere else~~

  2. I tend to think my style is 'blah' and I never seem to shop in a particular store. My high is shopping second hand where I can get a great bargain :)

  3. Lovely scarf!

The older I get, the harder it seems for me to nail down my style. I like trends, but I'm constantly asking my husband, "Am I too old to pull this off? Do I look like I'm trying too hard?" Heh. I mostly shop for clothes at the thrift or Target.

  4. I like your scarf too, Jo. I would call my style "classic casual" - right now I just got back from lunch out with my Dad - wearing jeans, a soft denim shirt and a loose navy swing cardi - all Old Navy (yikes - didn't realize that till I typed it) - flat burgundy suede loafers (Naturalizer). yep, classic (aka old person) casual.

  5. LOVE that scarf! And both outfits. My style is casual, I'd say. And I love to order from both J. Jill and Lands End. I followed you here from WIWW.

    1. Jeanine, thanks so much for visiting and commenting! Casual is what I have a hard time with. I always either look shlumpy or too dressy.

  6. I like your second picture (the close-up of your face) - it's super cute! As for me... fashion? What's that? :) I shop at Reitman's, Ricky's, Smartset, Mexx, Gap, Jacob, but mostly when they are have sales. I usually wear jeans with some sort of stretchy top - I have a few button-up shirts that I hardly ever wear. I used to wear skirts all the time; now I find jeans more comfy. I guess I'm kind of a casual person, but I like dressing up once in a while. :)

  7. I don't know what to call my style and I shop mostly at the Nygaards outlets and thrift stores. I love to dress up and look my best. I dress in comfy but pretty clothes when at home. It just helps me to feel better.

  8. I have a hard time with clothes.
For one-with all our monthly bills and stuff we buy the kids plus fun stuff we do all the time...I hardly have any type of budget for clothes.
I try and shop at Thrift stores for the most part but it's hard to find really good treasures that I adore when I'm weeding trough all sorts of sizes and colors and brands.
H&M has its seasons for me- sometimes I go and there's nothing I like. Other times I pop in and want to buy the whole store. Thankfully they are relatively cheap. Another cheap store is Forever 21 but sometimes I think I need to stop shopping there or I'm going to live up to the name and never look my age.

Overall I would describe my fashion sense as
"I know my wardrobe isn't terrible but some days I wish Stacy and Clinton would pick me for What Not To Wear so I could get a whole new wardrobe and look a tad older". Haha

    1. Heidi, I've had exactly that same thought about What Not to Wear!

  9. I like your outfit... such a classy girl you are. I haven’t yet defined my style, except that I am drawn to "classic feminine". Generally I just wear pieces of clothing that I absolutely love! And what I am currently loving is modern takes on 1920s style. My favorite places to shop are thrift stores... which are the only places I can afford to shop at in this designer label town ;p Slowly but surely I am building a small collection of outfits that mix and match and give me a sense of "queenly-ness" as I trot around town. And after all, that is really what matters... right? :)

    1. Oh, Ebbyanne, 1920s fashion would look perfect on you! Any feminine, queenly style would.
