The Best of To a Pretty Life: 2008-2012

Guess what?  I've got another milestone today!  I've been blogging here at To a Pretty Life for four years now!  It absolutely amazes me that I have stuck with something for so long.  I guess that's the beauty of blogging.  I can write about whatever interests me at any particular time.  I thought it would be fun to link to some of the best posts from the past four years.

So grab your favourite mug, brew yourself some tea, and lets dive into the archives!

About Me

Self-Discipline Explained - A bit of my history

The Power of a Pen...A Red Pen - A little paragraph about my work.  I love being an editor!

Lost in the Wheat Field
 - A snippet of my childhood

Pouring out my Heart: Simplicity and Priorities

About Home

Is "Pretty" Worth it?

Swooning Over a House
 - My PEI farmhouse crush.

Home Questions
 - A few partly-serious, partly-kidding questions.

Half-Bathroom or whatever you call it - One of my first full-room makovers, and my first post to get tons of search engine hits.  Probably because I put every name I could think of for that room in the title.

About My Projects

Mudroom Lockers

In Which I Reveal my Scottish Pride and My Odd Affinity for Historic Clothing - One of the most detailed/difficult sewing projects I've ever done.  I am quite proud of the result, even though it is the wrong size.  Anyone want to buy a regency corset?

Bike Bag - There's that polka-dot fabric again!  I love this bag.  It gets a lot of compliments from my friends when I use it.

1950s Bedroom Chair - My first upholstery attempt turned out a lot better than my first slipcover attempt.

Toddler Princess Costume - A bit elaborate for a two-year-old, but she looked so adorable!

*****

Now lets begin another year of prettiness!

  1. Congratulations on FOUR YEARS! Wow! That's an incredible milestone. I've been blogging since 2003, but in that time I jumped between writing 3 different blogs. Until I found a niche, I could be nowhere near consistent. So, congratulations for sticking with something so long and so well! I'm a newer follower, but I love your blog. :)

    1. Thanks, Jeanette! I had a few different blogs too before I started this one. It's hard decided what to write about at first! I was really self-conscious at first, thinking no one would want to hear what little old me had to say.

    1. Thanks Claudine! I actually still have that twig, three years and one house later. Although I haven't found a new use for it yet. I've added your blog to my list of things to do once I recover from vacation.

    1. Thanks Megan! My husband bought me three of those mugs for Christmas: a J, a K, and an N. My daughter says I can now remember all of my family when I drink tea ;-)
