Friday's Favourites #9

Welcome to our 9th edition of Friday's Favourites!  This week I'm thinking that title sounds too cheesy.  What do you think?  I have something different planned for next Friday.  If you know of other blogs that post a weekly round up of favourite things, let me know in the comments!  I hope you enjoy this week's links!

Mail is fun!  Juli gets so disappointed every time I return from checking the mail with nothing for her.  It really is a pity that people don't make use of the mail system more.  Dropping something pretty in the mail box is a quick and easy way to let someone know you care.  Did you know that you can mail just about anything that will hold a stamp?  Pinterest recently introduced me to a post series on Giverslog all about the fun things one can mail that weigh 13 ounces or less.  Like a flip flop!  Or the sweet gifts pictured above (a bottle full of prettiness, and ribbon wands).

Oh, how I wish I had curly hair sometimes!  (Sometimes?  Ok, most of the time!)  Meg made a floral hair garland and braided into her hair.  Perfect for spring!  I'll have to try it, despite my lack of curliness.

Canadian creative Kyla Roma has such an inspiring blog!  A few of my favourite posts of hers are Making a custom day planner, and Making space in every day for a creative life.  I have a custom day planner, but it doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment.  I've been trying different things, but have yet to hit on one that works better than my current options.  Kyla's is inspiring.

One of my friends has a movie review blog, and I happen to think his reviews are brilliant.  I'm the type of movie-watcher who gets caught up in the story, even the cheesy ones, and doesn't really notice or care about the technical or artistic side of the experience.  But I love reading Dustin's reviews.  They make me think, and are just as enjoyable as actually watching the movie.  Check out his review of Titanic in IMAX.  I still haven't watched this movie, although I do intend to at some point.  What about you?  Have you seen it?

  1. When I go get the mail, Lilibet says, "Nothing!" Obviously that's my reaction on too many days... right now I'm waiting for a bunch of parcels that seem to be taking their time in coming. :) Seriously, if I didn't review books, I'd hardly get anything other than bills.

  2. Getting fun stuff in the mail is great! Juliana literally gets mad at me some days because there is nothing in the mail for her.
