My Good Friday Evening

This is how I'm spending my evening on this Good Friday.  Kevin is out playing ball hockey, the kids are in bed, and I'm doing a little hand sewing to finish up a project.  It involves this Little Black Dress below, which I didn't bother zipping for this picture, since it took me 5 minutes the first time I zipped it up.  That's why it needs fixing.

The dress was 70% off at Ardene's, and when I bought it, I forgot to factor in the pre-teen based sizing they use.  Plus, the design just didn't make sense.  The waistband had no give at all, while the boned corset top had smocking at the back.  Someone forgot the purpose of a corset top, I think!

I'll show you the results of my tinkering on Monday, good or bad.  At this point, and I'm almost finished, it looks like it's going to work out and I'll have a cute dress to wear on vacation!

  1. Can't wait to see it, Jo. It seems you can do just about anything. I wouldn't even know where to start.

  2. That is a super cute dress! I'm not sure I'd know where to start either, and my mom sewed all our clothes! :)
