Selling Elsie Dinsmore Books by Martha Finley

I bought these pretty little books a while ago.  I love the illustration on the front.  Now I want to sell them but I don't quite know where I should try first.  Etsy?  Ebay?  Kijiji?  My problem is that I'm afraid of figuring out shipping, especially out of Canada.   What do you think?

  1. Shipping for books in Canada isn't too bad - I've shipped books for $2.50 to $10, depending on the size of the book. Into the States is probably more (as lots of American companies won't ship to Canada because it's more expensive).

  2. I wish I could help you, Jeanna, but I don't know anything about any of that. I've never bought anything from any of those places.
I hope you're able to figure it out though, those are lovely books.

    1. I just realised that my signature does look like Jeanna rather than Joanna! I wonder how many other internet friends think my name is Jeanna... ;-) I'll have to fix that.

  3. Hi Jo - these books look charming and I'm sure they will sell quickly. I say put them on kijiji or etsy - it's easy to set up an etsy shop. Then take the books to the post office and ask them to give you a price for Canada and U.S. standard shipping. Don't forget to add some extra for packaging. Good luck with this little venture.

  4. You should try Kijiji or Ebay. To find out the postage just go to the post office and ask them how much it would cost to mail the book to Canada or the U.S.A etc. Or if you have a pretty accurate weigh scale you could get the weight and then measure the book by height, width, & length. Go to Canada Post web site and determine how much it would cost to mail the book.

When you advertise just indicate that the price includes shipping (you decide how much mark up you want to have). Good luck.
